Midweek Meditation!

Just me again,

It's been a busy week for me to say the least. Emotions have been high, and physically I'm worn out, and it's only Tuesday... It seems that the deeper and deeper I delve into working toward my bachelor's degree, the more work I get! I'm getting used to it though, after all, being a teacher takes hard work and dedication.

I haven't made a single card since Sunday, but let me tell you, I've thought about it. So while I have a second to catch my breath this evening, I figured I would share some of those creations!

Most of the cards I made on this day took some length of time. Either because I chose to use stamps and hand color them, or because I had to cut something out by hand, or simply because sometimes they just take me an hour or so to pull them together.

[I get the feeling that some of you are in a fit of giggles now because an hour is nothing compared to how long -hours- it takes you to accomplish one page on a two page layout]

This card was created with a piece of paper that I picked up from a big name scrapbooking supply store. Lucky for me when I saw it I knew just what I was going to do with it! Because I scrap with my mother-in-law, we share quite a bit, including stamps. She'd used this same stamp a day or two before.

I chose to use two colors of ink, just to help it stand apart from the paper. Then I added some foam squares to raise it, some jute at the bottom in a bow, and a sticky pearl embellishment!

This one is always pleases! It is a several part stamp (the bottle, boat, and compass if you choose to use it). It requires some time, and of course, some hand coloring.

I love how 'beachy' this turned out, it also has a great masculine quality to it. If you look closely you can see two figures on the boat. And I even chose to emboss with gold on the compass!

This one I was very, very happy with! Again, the paper (zigzag wood with white paint) came from a big name store. I backed it with a pale orange, and then used a 2 part Iris Stamp, hand colored, and fussy cut to my pleasing!

I embellished it with some sheer ribbon, and added foam squares to give it a pop!

I use stamps often, but they are usually quotes or sayings. So when I take the time to get creative, and put my artistry skills to work, the cards usually become some of my favorites! On the other hand, these ones tend to sell faster than the rest, and I end up groaning at the thought of having to make more...that is...until I get another creative itch!

Well, that's all for now. Don't forget to check in on Cat's Blog, and stick around to see what Valerie has been up to!

    1. Thanks! I thought I would take a page from your book with the stamping and coloring. I might have to venture into it again!
